Blood Pressure VS. Nerve Pressure

Among the 10 most profitable drugs sold in 2008, the top two were blood pressure medications, earning a combined profit of $18,800,000,000,000. It’s clear that “blood” is big business.

We live in a very blood-based culture. Nurses check patient’s “blood pressure” while they’re waiting to see the doctor. “Blood tests” are ordered to evaluate contents of the “blood stream.” There are special buildings called “blood banks” that host “blood drives” for people to come and “donate blood.”

But what if, instead of high blood pressure, a doctor said that you have “high nerve pressure?”

That might elicit the token “confused puppy dog” look in some people because we’re so consumed with blood pressure that we tend to ignore the fact that nerves control the heart. Nerves enable vessels to expand and contract. If it wasn’t for nerves, blood couldn’t flow at all.

Interestingly enough, your family internist isn’t going to look for nerve pressure. The only doctors who do that are chiropractors!

To do this, Upper Cervical Chiropractors use special equipment called Computerized Thermal Imaging that measures nerve pressure. It’s important to have this done periodically because it’s a window into the overall function of your body.

Think of it like a report card. Your nervous system functions best when it’s graded an “A.” When it slips to the B-C range, the person needs to put in some more effort. And if it falls down into the D or F zone, it’s time for an intervention – the “parent-teacher” conference!

Many people assume chiropractic care is only for back pain. Consequently, they don’t think chiropractic care is necessary because their back feels fine. Then there are those who do think they need chiropractic care because their back hurts.

This shocks a lot of people at first, but I’ve often said, whether you think you do or don’t need chiropractic care, you’re probably wrong. If you base the need for chiropractic on the presence or absence of back pain, you’re sorely mistaken (no pun intended).

Chiropractic care is about nerve pressure.

The only way to know if you have nerve pressure is to get examined by a chiropractor. Do patients with back pain have nerve pressure? Do people with asthma or constipation have nerve pressure? Do people with multiple sclerosis and hypertension have nerve pressure? More often than not, the answer to these questions is… YES!

That’s why chiropractic care is able to help people with different conditions.

The bottom line is, your health suffers when you have “high nerve pressure.” While it’s important to have a family internist and a family dentist, it’s equally as important to have a family chiropractor!
