When You Look in the Mirror, Do You See a Cactus?

A cactus doesn’t need water everyday. But since we’re not cacti, water isn’t optional!

Proper hydration is vital for optimal health, and it’s essential for the healing process.

What happens if you don’t water a plant regularly…? It wilts. The same withering effect occurs internally with every organ, muscle, tissue and cell in your body. Our bodies need water to function, and we simply cannot survive without it!

Conventional wisdom tells us that we should drink “eight glasses” of water per day. This notion has confused me since childhood. My wife likes to drink from 12-oz glasses, but I prefer a larger 24-oz… So which size glass were they implying? And what about sumo wrestlers? Should they drink the same amount of water each day as an 8-year-old?

Clearly, there’s a difference. So allow me to suggest a more accurate way… Take half of your body weight, and drink that number of ounces daily. For example, if George Clooney weighs 200-lbs, he should be drinking 100-oz of water each day. If Oprah Winfrey weighs 150-lbs, she should be drinking 75-oz per day.

Chronic dehydration causes so many different health problems that this medical doctor built his entire practice around making people drink more water!

That’s all for today – drink up!
