I posed this question on Twitter recently and got some interesting responses. It prompted me to build upon it by asking the same question on my blog.
Answer it as honestly as you can. Which would you rather be:
Symptom-free but still sick… OR… Getting better (achieving health) but symptomatic?
Let’s weigh the options…
Option 1) The symptom is “gone,” but whatever is causing it will eventually return.
Option 2) Strive to reverse the damage and slowly eliminate the cause of the problem.
I’ve attached a voting survey below, but am encouraging readers to let their opinions be heard in the comment section as well.

Getting better (achieving health) but symptomatic of course. Health is optimal function so while symptoms can be uncomfortable If I know that I am functioning correctly I will know there is a reason for the discomfort and that it should not last long.
I think the result of the poll speaks for itself. Give me symptoms any day as long as I’m getting better!
